Pete and Ana, owners of Waggnpurr tell us how winning our Winstock competition has impacted their business.

“We started this business in 2015 after leaving the services. I started with just myself providing pet services, such as dog walking, pet visits and other services. Our business grew quickly and we decided to open the shop, Waggnpurr in 2017, in Axminster, as there was not a great amount of local competition within the pet industry at the time. The shop has been a great success in the first couple of years and the locals took very well to having an independent pet shop in town, which grew to having two staff members.

This year we have unfortunately struggled to maintain stock levels because we had trouble with vehicles transporting the stock to our shop, which set us back massively.

This year we had also lunched our website, which has changed how our customers have been shopping with our customers shopping online and not coming into our store as of ten. More shops

in Axminster have also been closing and seeing less people in the town centre, so we made the decision to move to a unit in order to focus on our online presence, which will be opening in the new year.

Winning this competition couldn’t have come at a better time with us moving premises and helping us to fill our shelfs. We are extremely shocked to have won as we have always entered since attending PATS, we are extremely grateful to have won the prizes.”
