October 2022 marks 40 years since Hagen opened its UK operation in 1982. Hagen was founded in Montreal, Canada in 1955 by German immigrant Rolf C. Hagen and quickly became a leader in the pet industry, expanding its operations to the USA, Germany and the UK, along with several other global markets.

Hagen UK began its journey in Kirkstall, Leeds, but quickly outgrew its modest office and warehousing space, moving to its current HQ in Castleford, West Yorkshire in 1988.
To mark the occasion, Hagen UK held an 80’s themed lunchtime event for its staff, many of whom donned 80’s fancy dress for the festivities! Adrian Burgess, Hagen UK’s Managing Director, said “It was fantastic to see so many of our staff getting in the spirit and a great time was had by all!
The Hagen company, despite being a global pet brand powerhouse, is still family owned and family run and we see our staff as very much part of the extended Hagen family. Many of our staff have been with us since the 80’s and 90’s and we like to extend the family feeling to everything we do, from staff gatherings to the relationships with our amazing customers. Here’s to another 40 successful years!”
