Pets Choice are launching a new CBD-based pet calming spray amid increased demand from pet owners for products to help tackle their pet’s stress and anxiety.

The new lavender-scented B-Calm spray can be applied directly to your pet’s bedding and immediate surroundings including carpets and soft furnishings to create a calming environment.
A recent YouGov survey found that 73% of UK dog owners say their dog experiences separation anxiety1, with the PDSA finding ‘chronic stress’ as one of the leading issues relating to cat welfare in the UK2.

The coronavirus pandemic has undoubtedly contributed to this increase, as many pets acquired during lockdown have become accustomed to having their owners around them all the time and are now having to adjust to a ‘new normal’ as their owners spend less time at home. Other seasonal factors such as bonfire night and new years’ eve are known contributors to stress and anxiety, however, it is now more of a year-round issue and not purely a seasonal category.
“Our own consumer research found that over 62% of pet owners have purchased a calming product for their pet, with over a third saying that they use a calming product daily,” added Lisa.
“This demonstrates the increased awareness amongst pet owners of their own pet’s emotional wellbeing and their willingness to spend money on products that they feel will help to alleviate behavioural issues.”
